Did you know the Snowflake Wire Ornament Frame Holder can create so much more than snowflakes?
One of my favorite things about designing tools is discovering all the unexpected ways we can use them. Over in the Paper Bead Fanatics Facebook Group, makers are constantly experimenting, bending, layering, and turning simple supplies into something completely different — and honestly, that’s where some of the best ideas come from.
This little project started with a simple thought:
“What happens if we curve the snowflake arms instead of leaving them straight?”
And just like that… a flower appeared.
With a few perfectly round paper beads and a little wire shaping, the Snowflake Wire Ornament Frame transforms into a beautiful beaded daisy pendant that looks surprisingly intricate — but is actually very beginner-friendly once you get started.
I used the measurements below for the pendant I’m wearing in the photo, but don’t be afraid to experiment! Larger petals create a bold statement flower, while smaller petals make delicate little daisies perfect for earrings or charms.
You can also watch the full tutorial showing how to use the Snowflake Ornament Frame Holder, then follow these steps to create your own daisy pendant.
What You’ll Need
- Snowflake Wire Ornament Frame Holder
- 42 6mm Perfectly Round Paper Beads
- 6 cone beads
- Three 6-inch lengths of wire (I used 16 gauge wire)
- Paper bead roller
- Perfectly Round Paper Beads digital download template
Instructions
- Create 42 round 6mm paper beads using the Perfectly Round Paper Beads digital download template.
- Create 6 cone beads using the same template set.
- Cut three 6-inch lengths of wire.
- Using the handle of your paper bead roller, gently curve one end of the wire to form a daisy petal shape.
- String 7 round 6mm paper beads onto the wire.
- Add 1 cone bead to the wire. This creates the pointed base of the petal where it connects to the flower center.
- Insert the remaining wire through one hole in the Snowflake Ornament Frame Holder.
- Repeat the process on the opposite side of the wire, making sure the base of the petal sits snugly against the ornament frame.
- Repeat the entire process two more times until all six daisy petals are complete.
And that’s it — a completely different look from the same tool!
I love projects like this because they remind us that creativity isn’t about following rules perfectly. Sometimes all it takes is looking at a tool a little differently and asking, “What else could this become?”
