This funky-shaped bow tie paper bead is so much fun to make! The paper strip is a bit tricky to cut out, but it’s well worth it in the end.
To make the thicker version of this bead, you’ll use two strips, strip A and strip B. The dimensions are laid out in the graphic below:

Strip A is the inside core of the bead and is rolled first. Once it’s secure, strip B is attached with glue and rolled on top of strip A. This makes for a thicker, stronger bead. If you’d like to have a thinner bead, you can leave strip A off completely and just roll strip B by itself.
If you find these strips difficult to cut, you can purchase the Bow Tie Bead Digital Template Pack. It includes a PDF version you can print on your home printer, a Brother Scan N Cut file, and an SVG file for use in other cutting machines such as the Cricut.
