If you love the look of the smooth rounded beads you often find on expensive charm bracelets, then you’ll love making the paper version yourself! This wide euro style paper bead stencil allows you to trace the shape of the paper strips onto a paper of your choice. Cut out the strips and assemble them as shown in this video tutorial.
Create a Fuller, Rounded Paper Bead Shape
Want to make paper beads with a substantial, almost barrel-like profile?
The Wide Euro Paper Bead Stencil Set uses three coordinating strip shapes to build a fuller Euro-style paper bead with a distinctive rounded silhouette.
Unlike a traditional triangle bead made from one continuous strip, the Wide Euro design is created by rolling three separate paper strips in sequence. Each strip adds another section of the bead and helps create its characteristic shape.
It’s a fun next step for paper bead artists who are ready to experiment beyond classic triangle beads.
Three Stencils Work Together to Make One Bead
Your set includes:
- Strip 1
- Strip 2
- Strip 3
Trace and cut one strip from each stencil, then roll them in order to create one Wide Euro bead.
Each stencil measures approximately 9.5″ x 1.75″ and creates a strip approximately 9″ long.
Because all three strips contribute to the finished shape, changing your paper colors and patterns gives you even more ways to customize the final bead.
Build the Bead One Layer at a Time
The Wide Euro stencil set gives you lots of room to play with color.
Use:
One paper design for all three strips for a coordinated look
Three different papers for a layered or color-blocked effect
Contrasting patterns to highlight the different sections of the bead
The same stencil set can create dramatically different results depending on your paper choices, roller size, and how you combine the three strips.
Trace. Cut. Roll.
Using the set is straightforward:
1. Trace — Trace Strip 1, Strip 2, and Strip 3 with the included mechanical pencil.
2. Cut — Carefully cut along each traced outline.
3. Roll — Roll the strips in order, continuing each new strip where the previous one ends.
The rigid stencils stay flat while you trace, helping you create accurate, repeatable strip shapes without measuring them by hand.
Why We Include a Mechanical Pencil
The outline of each strip helps determine the final shape of the bead, so accurate tracing matters.
A mechanical pencil gives you a fine, consistent line that’s easier to follow when cutting. That’s why one is included with every stencil-set order.
Reusable & Easy to Keep Organized
Each Wide Euro stencil is:
Clearly numbered — Strip 1, Strip 2, and Strip 3 make the rolling order easy to follow
Rigid & stable — stays flat against your paper while tracing
Reusable — create Wide Euro beads again and again
Easy to organize — the included easy-open ring keeps all three pieces together
The stencils are manufactured from PLA, a plant-based material made from renewable resources such as corn.
Made for Paper Bead Artists Who Want More Possibilities
Once you’ve discovered what a simple triangle strip can become, it’s fun to explore how completely different strip shapes change your finished bead.
The Wide Euro set was designed specifically for paper bead making, giving paper bead artists another way to experiment with shape, color, pattern, and scale.
Designed by paper bead artist and educator Kelly Phillips and manufactured by our small business in North Carolina.
